Mrs. Nettie Beecher, seventy-four, 444 N. Mary St., collapsed at the corner of Queen and James Streets Friday night and was pronounced dead on arrival at the General Hospital at 9:40 p.m.
She had been under the care of a physician for heart condition, attendants said. After she was sticken ill, while walking alone, city police took the woman to the hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival by Dr. Henry Kreider, an intern.
Born in Coatesville, a daughter of the late Home and Elizabeth Steighelman, she lived in Lancaster fo rthe past 50 years.
She was the widow of Norman Beecher who died in 1941.
Surviving are three daughters, Elnora M., wife of Charles M. Myers, Lancaster R4; Edith C., wife of Raymond Wenger, Salunga, and Stella M., wife of Willis B. Denlinger, Lancaster; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.


Nettie married Norman Beecher, son of Parris Epler Beecher and Sarah Elizabeth Featon, on 10 Dec 1910 in Wagontown, Chester, PA.1 2 3 (Norman Beecher was born on 28 Dec 1888 in Coatesville, Chester, PA,1 2 3 16 17 died on 12 May 1942 in Lancaster, Lancaster, PA 1 4 17 18 and was buried on 14 May 1942 in Lancaster: Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster, PA 16 17.)
