Leona Irene Beecher, 81, a resident of the Shippensburg Health Care Center, died Thursday, July 19, 2007 in the Chambersburg Hospital. She was born May 23, 1926 in Chambersburg, Franklin County; she was a daughter of the late Samuel A. and Elizabeth J. Miller Beecher.

Leona was a member of Centerville Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a brother, Richard W. Beecher, Carlisle, five sisters, Margaret I. Widney and Nancy C. Sommerville both of Chambersburg, Mary B. Frengel, Walnut Bottom, Joan E. Ashburn, Carlisle and Rebecca L. Gallucci, Cape Neddick, Maine.

Preceded in death by a brother, Gerald T. Beecher

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2007 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11 A.M. Officiating will be The Rev. Kathryn Z. Johnston. Burial will be in the Centerville Memorial Gardens, Penn Township, Cumberland County.
