A native of West Lafayette, Ind., he was born June 8, 1921, and had been a Reno resident for eight years, coming from Arizona. Parks was a member of Arizona State assessors office and a retired 30 year U.S. Army O-6 Colonel veteran, and a reserve officer Assn. D.A.V. He was also a West Point Military Academy graduate. Surviving are his widow Enid of Reno; son William White and daughter Dr. Cid Guston-Parks, both of Sacramento; daughter Susan Peterson of Carson City; brother Dr. John of Cleveland, Ohio; and four grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date. Cremation will be at Reno Crematory, under the direction of Northern Nevada Memorial Cremation and Burial Society. A memorial is being established with Flospice of Northern Nevada, c/o Saint Mary's Foundation, 235 W. Sixth St., Reno 89502. Robert married Enid Dorothy Gunston, daughter of George Tilley Gunston and Dorothy Grace Gray, on 1 Jun 1947 in Chicago, Cook, IL. (Enid Dorothy Gunston was born on 19 Aug 1927 in Sacramento, Sacramento, CA 3 and died on 19 Feb 2010 in Carson City, Carson City, NV 3.) |
