Also in the home are David Groff, 13; Louis Groff, 10; Henry Hornstraw, 17; John Stouder, 25; Jacob Landis, 19; Joseph Heuber, 21; and Caroline Sutz, 17, servant. Henry was born in Germany, everyone else in Pennsylvania. We presume these are live-in employees, although the Groff children could be Henrietta's from a first marriage? All that certain lot on piece of ground fronting on E. Chestnut St. in said City of Lancaster between Sims and Shippen Streest, 16 feet front, 146 deep to alley. 6. Harnish of East Lampeter Township 16 acres in Manheim Township bordering John Shreiner, John Killian, Henry Dietrich, David Frinklyy, Mary Fredel, the turnpike, George Shreiner, being part of a tract of 24 acres which John Stauffer in his will dated 22 Jan 1859 gave to his daughter Mary Beecher and upon her decease to her children. 7. Beecher died at his home, 39 West Lemon street, of an acute affection of the stomach, in the 43d year of his age. Deceased was a native of Bareville and a son of Samuel W. Beecher. He came to Lancaster many years ago and for seventeen years was a freight handler at the Pennsylvania railroad station. During the war he served three years as a member of Battery A., Fifth U.S. Artillery. He was a member of Admiral Reynolds Post, G. A. R., and of the Veteran Legion. 12.
