16. Obituary: The Sentinel in 1999 in Rochester, Fulton, IN. Carr E. BEECHER, 78, Denver, died 3:30 a.m. Monday at his home. Born in Cass County to Clinton E. and Grace CONDON BEECHER, he married Dorothann ROCKEY on July 24, 1942 in Corinth Brethren Church, Twelve Mile. She died June 9, 1999.

Mr. Beecher was owner and operator of Beecher Garage, Denver for 50 years. He graduated from Twelve Mile High School in 1940 and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a North Miami Community School bus driver for 30 years and was honored by the State of Indiana this year for 50 years of service to the Denver Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Denver Baptist Church, Denver.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia "Patty" Ann WILTSHIRE, Great Falls, Mont., and Jane ROBINS, Denver; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Everett BEECHER, Twelve Mile; four sisters, Elaine SHAFER, Royal Center, Maxine JOHNSON and Harriett MORRIS, Logansport, and Jean GRABLE, Twelve Mile. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Marion [BEECHER] and Merrill BEECHER. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, with Rev. Steve BATE officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home by State Volunteer Fire DEpartments. Memorials may be made to Denver Baptist Church or Miami-Wabash County Hospice.
