Miss Sheryl Sue Swope, of 1631 A Erford Road West, Camp Hill, was married recently to Ronie Edward Bucher, of Sunbury RD2, in Evangelical United Brethren Church, Harrisburg. Rev. William Kelly officiated.
Miss Swope is the daughter of Mrs. Robert E. Bastian and Richard James Swope, of Lewisburg. Mr. Bucher is the son of and Mrs. Ralph Bucher, of Sunbury RD2.
The bride was given in marriage during the double ring service by Robert E. Bastian. She wore a white lace street length gown with a candlelight veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses and pompons. The church was decorated with white mums and pompons.
Mrs. Bucher wore a navy blue and white wool dress, Mrs. Bastian wore a yellow chiffon ensemble.
The couple is living at Sunbury RD2. The bride is finishing her senior year at Shikellamy High School with the class of 1968.
The groom graduated from Shikellamy High School with the class of 1967 and is employed at Rea and Derick, Inc., Northumberland.

SUBURY - Marie Krieger, Sunbury, announces the engagement of her duaghter, Esther Ann, to Ronie Bucher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bucher, Sunbury RD2.
The bride-elect is employed at Weis Markets Inc., Sunbury, and her fiance is employed at Yorktowne Kitchens, division of Wickes, Mifflinburg. A summer wedding is being planned.

Ronie Edward Bucher, 67, of Sunbury, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, with his family by his side.
He was born and raised in Sunbury, a son of Shirley Bucher and the late Ralph Bucher.
Ronie was a 1967 graduate of Shikellamy High School where he was a standout football player. He went on to coach many athletes in various sports.
He was proudly employed by Yorktowne Kitchens until he retired in 2005.
He was a father to four sons, Ronie, who preceded him in death, Bill, Chris and Nate.
Ronie enjoyed spending his time trying to make people smile and playing with his grandchildren. He loved sports and was known by many for his up lifting facebook presence.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, with provisions to follow at the Scott Tower Community Room on Market Street.
Interment will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
