Harvey Bucher, 151 N. Fourth Street, who suffered a stroke on Saturday, following a severe heart attack Wednesday, is showing some improvement at his home today, it was reported by members of his family. He is, however, still seriously ill and is confined to his bed. Mr. Bucher, a former employe of the Susquehanna Mills Inc., has been unable to engage in a regular occupation for several years because of a heart ailment.

Harvey William Bucher, of 151 North Fourth street, died this morning, at 10:45 o'clock after been in ill health for many years. He was aged 56 years, 6 months and 16 days. He was born in Sunbury Septerber 11, 1891, the son of Charles A. and Annie Bucher, who were members of pioneer Sunbury families.
After receiving his education in the Sunbury schools he entered the Susquehanna Silk Mills as a weaver and was there engaged until 1936 when he retired because of ill health. He was a member of the Sunbury Social Club and widely known in the
community.
He is survived by his wife, the former Grace Niehiff; four sons, Charles W., Chester J., Douglas, of this city, and Edward, of York; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Holub, Sunbury; one step-daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Weyand, Rahway, N. J., two brothers, Charles H., of Shamokin Dam, and R. J. Bucher, Sunbury, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home with burial in Sunbury Cemetery. Rev. George W. Hallman, pastor of Otterbein Evangelical United Brethren Church will officiate. Friends may call at the home any time Monday evening.


Harvey married Grace Ellen Niehoff, daughter of Harry Raymond Niehoff and Melinda Gearhart Snyder. (Grace Ellen Niehoff was born on 4 Mar 1890 in Shamokin, Northumberland, PA,7 10 died on 21 Feb 1963 in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA 10 and was buried on 25 Feb 1963 in Sunbury: Sunbury Cemetery, Northumberland, PA 10.)
